Even though I knew exactly the message I am trying to get across in Roots I am still  not satisfied with the title of the work. (just sounds a little chunky). Root of Symmetry shows how symmetry and our ideas about beauty, truth and knowledge are so intertwined. Symmetry can be perfect and imperfect at the same instant. Like so the many trivial and non-trivial events in our dirt real human lives.

The composition spreads across the visual presentational field in a wholly balanced manner. It does, upon first glance, appear like the abstract representation of a thick tree, such as oak. Squat and close to its source the overall image conveys a stable and enduring presence. 

Look closer into the composition and one notices that the image is actually an imperfect mirror reflection of itself on the vertical plane. It is within these graphic approximations of self symmetry that the intrepid viewer will discover more approximations of symmetry. Such it is with our fractal universe.

If you have a title that will fit this growth of my mind, please suggest it to me. It is a tree, but Tree of Symmetry just doesn't hit the target.
