Artist's Notes: Jan-13-2002 Apparition is generated by Fractal Explorer, Ver.1.23 beta 6. No external manipulations were used. I have been fortunate to have had several apparitions in my experience. Usually they are very elemental in form, but very rich in symbolic meaning. This interpretation tries to convey the sense of presence that one feels when something wonderful and extraordinary occurs within the mind. An alternate title was, " In My Room. " I have had several inquiries by other digital artists about how some of my images are not really fractals. This is a good example to explain my thrust on this subject. There is only one element of self similarity in this image, and that is the "S" like curves. This cannot be seen as a fractal in and of itself. Many of my images are really parts of fractals, and not, strictly speaking, fractals. I hope this clears things up a bit. The overarching idea here is that a computer program that uses fractal geometry is being used to generate my images. Most of my images are not post processed. If you had the formula and parameter file, (and the program that generated the image) you could exactly reproduce the image you see above.
