Artist's Notes for "Nodus"
Nodus is a true fractal image, created with Fractal Explorer Version
1.23b5. No post-processing was used.
In Nodus I attempt to convey the
sense of inner abstract perception.
Our brains are constantly processing information. The information within the
skull is ordered with a high degree of fractalcality. Every information node is related or
connected to all other information nodes. Every point in a fractal is
connected to every other point by thin strains that may not be noticeable
at normal magnifications. It is this "interconnectedness" that
give the fractal realm its deep mystical properties. Fractals are the
connection between the abstract and the material, between consciousness
and reality, between art and science.
At every moment within our minds we are calculating something, relating
something to some other thing. Even sleep provides no silence. These connections arise from chaotic groupings
of inner perceptions (knowledge of contextual and spatial relation
to the whole) within the memory stores. These links run across the information landscape in an almost deliberate
manner, seeking the correct connection to solve the problem at hand.
This is what Nodus illustrates. |
